Bees
I met the cutest Girl Scout this past weekend. I was in Calabasas with a friend and we stopped by the local farmer's market. As we were walking through there was a stand with Girl Scouts doodling on tote bags. They were hosting a fundraiser and before anyone even spoke to us I knew I wanted to buy one. I was a Girl Scout as a kid and I dreaded selling stuff. So now whenever I see a Girl Scout selling something I have to buy it! haha. =D I was eyeing a bag with colorful polka-dots that another girl was working on. But then this one little girl came up to me, showed me her ear and with a huge smile said.. "Hi! A bee stung my ear.." I was shocked speechless. Her ear was swollen and oh so red, the poor little girl must have been in so much pain! And then she held up her tote bag and said she made this one and I immediately said I'd love to buy yours! Her bag is quite adorable. A future illustrator in the making. =)
The day ended with my friend and I going to Koreatown to try out a new ice cream place called HoneyMee. I got the special and it came with a free bee! haha

Happy Father's Day to all the super dads out there!
I have the most amazing dad, he's worked hard his entire life to provide our family a safe, comfortable and extremely loving home. And since the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, my brother is just as amazing. With these two incredible role models, I'm positive that my two little nephews will grow up to be supermen too. The Lee family children have a very special trait passed down from our ancestors. It's the "Dumbo-like" ears that always find their way to poke out of our hair. As children my brother and I would often get teased about our ears. We would feel embarrassed and try to hide them. But over the years we've learned to love them because we know they make us special and now I hope to teach my nephews the same. =)

Frozen Little Golden Book
I had the opportunity to work on the Frozen Little Golden Book! It was such a great experience getting to work with the film makers and with an incredible team that helped me put this book together. I created the cover and managed the book. The super talented Max Narcisco worked on layouts with Andrea Cagol and Valeria Turati on the beautiful paints. Our amazing designer Tony Fejeran put it all together with the fun typography. =)

Happy happy birthday friend!!
I met my friend in art school. She's one of the nicest and most thoughtful people I know. She is super creative, an awesome cook, and an incredible friend. She is a woman that I admire in so many ways. I feel so lucky to have her in my life. We often get ourselves into overly ambitious craft projects but we always manage to have lots of fun doing them!
We both own the same pair of Toms red polka-dot shoes (flats and wedges) and share the love for cute coffee shops (mustache coffee from Alfred Coffee and Kitchen). This piece is for her and it is inspired by our amazing friendship.
Happy happy birthday!! =)

我 eye 你!

This year is going by so fast! My nephew is two now and he's learning to talk. It's so adorable! One thing my brother teaches him is to say "I love you" in chinglish. hehe. 我愛你 is what he says and he gestures it too. Love in chinese sounds like eye in english so he points as his eyes when he says love. It's really cute. I made an illustration for my brother for his birthday this past July. Happy belated birthday bro!=)

My Best Friend
I met my best friend in 7th grade. We were both transfer students and were required to take an ESL test on the first day of school. I still remember us sitting at the round table in the library complaining to each other that we don't need to take an ESL test! Little did we know that test would spark an incredible friendship of 17 years. I guess I did need to take that test.. otherwise I may have missed out on meeting this wondefully amazing person. =)
My best friend lost one of her favorite coats on a trip. And I had an unfortunate mishap with a really lovely scarf...So this sketch is to immortalize her lovely red coat and my fabulous blue scarf... =)

My lovely friends

I was organizing all the files on my computer and found this image hidden away! I started it two years ago after being inspired by a photo my friend's husband had taken of my friends and I trying to jump with balloons. They are the greatest friends anyone can ask for and I can't wait until we reunite to do more silly things. =)
